Mie Keriting Bu Sri Horas, Surabaya

Well, if you're looking for a way to satisfy your love for noodle (or just a momentary craving, like me), especially mie keriting ...

Well here you have it. Mie Keriting Horas, located on Jalan Bromo, Surabaya.

To be honest this place has been here for a long time (my mom's high school hangout spot) so definitely it still got the "vintage feels", if you know what I'm talking about.

And so the portion of the noodle was like...

HUGE MAN.

Well, for 52k (2 mie keriting, 2 iced teas) that was worth every bits of it.

You got 2 quail eggs, chicken, chasio, and porky stuffs, and good tasting broth (sometimes you could get like, plain-flavored broth). Don't forget their exquisitely delicious seasonings. YUMMMYYYYYYYYYYY!

I do recommend to eat this when you are really hungry though.

BASHA ARCADE!

Heeyy guys whatsup?

So I know it's been a very long time that I haven't post anything yet (sorry) because I'm busy cramming with tests and the tasks of the 11th grade.

Pretty tiring but yet I'm also excited -- since I got the chance to visit the BASHA ARCADE back on 30th August on Ciputra World, Surabaya, which I think is a smaller version of the legendary Basha Market.

So for this year, the concept/ theme is Mad Lab which I think is very creative and simply awesome.

..And celebrity/ famous Indonesian actor Glenn Alinskie was there to sell his clothing line with his brother, the Alinskie Brothers!! (WHAT!!!)


Anyways, despite having sort of low budget (I only bring 30k that time lol), but yet still wanting to try on the Basha Arcade's food and snacks... I decided to try on this 25k on-the-coconut-served ice cream which tasted as usual --

DELICIOUS.

For me, even this 2-pints of coconut ice-cream may seemed a little to ordinary, but yet I think the quality of the products and the ripeness of the coconut just raise the tasty into scrumptious.

And anyways -- this cute ice-cream "brand" is KELAPAS, originated in Jakarta, as I heard from the seller himself.
You can only choose 2 toppings, but that time I got free sprinkles and nuts.
And you get free little umbrellas.
How nuts is that?!!

*Ahem*
But yet I've seen this ice cream somewhere in Thailand, though.

And they also sell lattes in various flavors which are just the b-best. This one is one of my fave flavors of all time- Matcha.

Honoka, Lippo Cikarang

So, another post about Japanese restaurant.. This time adalah sebuah restoran Jepang yang terletak di Ruko Robson, Lippo Cikarang bernama Honoka. 

To be honest I think this one is better than the previous one, because I think the menu is more 'decent' I guess.

So saat itu mood gue adalah untuk sashimi dish. So this bowl of raw seafood is filled with ikura (telur salmon), tamagoyaki (卵焼き/ semacam omelet Jepang yang rasanya manis), tuna, ebi (udang), salmon, jahe merah, wasabi paste, parutan lobak, dan nasi. Selain itu, side dishnya berupa miso soup, tofu, dan bubur pacar cina. And guess what- it tasted so good!

Tapi, kalo lo bukan fan dari makanan mentah, lo bisa nyobain set dish lainnya seperti...

Menu semacam tempura (gorengan ala Jepang) ini terdiri dari semangkuk nasi, Japanese pickles (timun, chilli), tempura (nori/ seaweed/ rumput laut, ebi), bubur pacar cina, miso soup, salmon + saus khusus buat salmonnya.

The food's quality was excellent, meskipun seafoodnya mentah tapi tetap dalam kondisi fresh, dan ngenyangin. Selain itu, lo bakalan dapet iced black coffee for free!

So I know its been a month I actually didn't post anything - due to the lack of connection in my house.
Anyways..

Jadi untuk liburan kenaikan kelas kali ini I've decided pulang kampung ke Jakarta.

On the first day I arrived, temen nyokap (a.k.a. mom/ mama) gue ngajak buat ketemuan di restoran Jepang deket rumah, namanya Shion, terletak di gedung apartemen Axia. Buat lo yang pernah main ke Lippo Cikarang atau memang residing di sini, apartemen Axia terletak di depan GBI (deketnya perumahan Vassa Lake). Buat lo yang emang gatau (bahkan gatau Lippo Cikarang dimana, nih gue kasih map nya...)

      Shion, like I said, is a Japanese restaurant. Tempatnya bersih & cozy, viewnya juga bagus (kolam renang dari apartemen Axianya). Range harga disini cukup standard terutama untuk restoran-restoran Jepang lainnya. 

Sawasdee Bangkok!

So on last Easter holiday, I went to Thailand, which was one of the best traveling experience I've had. Good food, good people, beautiful scenery, great travel destination and so much more. And... kalo mereka bilang Thailand dipenuhi dengan barang-barang yang serba murah, I'd say I agree.

The Long Lost... Es Campur?!

It's been a while that I haven't posted anything yet, due to my final exams (which had already passed), and few things I need to do...

And I also decided that I'm going to post my posts in Indonesian (Halo fellow Indonesians) and to spice it up a little bit, bilingual juga bakalan dipake disini ;) 
p.s. : Bakalan ada bahasa Jawa (yang dipake sehari-hari di Surabaya) yang keikut, so pls mind ^^=

Semenjak kita udah libur puuuaanjang (summer break + Lebaran), I'm sure banyak dari kalian yang start pergi kemana-mana. Daripada menunggu di rumah sampe jenggotan, kemaren gue pergi ke Galaxy Mall, Surabaya and semacam nge-set mood perut gue dalam mode liburan juga. SO inilah 'hasilnya':

Buat kalian yang gatau itu apaan, well this is ES CAMPUR TIDAR, terkenal banget pas era 80-an, dan katanya, originally es campur ini banyak banget berkeliaran di Jalan Tidar, Surabaya. Tapi entah mengapa gerobaknya disappear semua sekarang.

     So this spicy lil' kid was purchased at a street at Bali. It is SUPER-DUPER and EXTREMELY SPICY. Consisting of only tiny portion of rice, and bits of sweet shredded meat (empal), sweet coconut flakes (serundeng, which is Indonesian sautéed grated coconut with sugar), fried noodle, some peanuts, and definitely a spoonful of one of the hottest chilli (sambal), wrapped in a sheet of banana leaf, that will make you eat and sweat 'till you drop.

     SO this newly discovered spot is located on Jl. Bukit Darmo Blvd, West Surabaya. I thought it was just an ordinary grocery store, but instead, they also got cheap yet finger-licking steaks & a cozy place to hangout and talk. So a few moments ago I went there with my mom and got these two babies:
