The Dish of the Dark Side?!

Hello there!

Buat kalian yang menganggap judul postku diatas lucu (atau aneh) atau mengingatkan kalian pada film Star Wars, well sebenarnya kuliner 'emperan' yang satu ini sebenarnya agak "mbleset" ke arah yang gelap.... Karena.....

Aku lagi berbicara tentang Nasi Cumi (yap, nama warungnya adalah Warung Nasi Cumi-Cumi) yang terletak di gang sebelah Pasar Atom Surabaya. Buat kalian yang tinggal di tengah Kota Pahlawan (dan meski di Surabaya Barat juga), aku reccomend tempat ini buat makan berat dengan harga ngemper tapi rasa maknyusssss. 

*warung kecil-kecil gini cabe rawit lho (BUKAN CABE-CABEAN YA), karena meski tempatnya yang cenderung kecil, tapi artis-artis (kayak Pak Bondan) pernah singgah disini.*

Jangan salah persepsi, meski ini warung pinggir jalan, tapi tempatnya tetep enak buat kongkow + bersih (baca : gak bau, gaada hewan aneh" melintas)

Kalo kalian beneran laper banget, aku saranin pesan Nasi Komplit. Pas itu aku pesan Nasi Biasa, yang terlihat seperti ini:

PASTINYA ada cumi khasnya mereka (dimasak pake bumbu khasnya mereka yang berwarna hitam -- that's why I said the 'dark side' hehe), peyek udang, mie, nasi, dan tahu pedes.

Mungkin awalnya agak "aneh" karena dishnya berwarna hitam, but make no mistake, guys. Warna hitam ini adalah tinta cumi, yang bikin dish ini juga menarik banget. 

Wanginya menggoda, servicenya juga cepet banget, cocok buat midnight craving ditengah kerja skripsi/ belajar/ kerja tugas + mintak Gojek buat anterin... Hehehehe 

I would say this is cheap enough, untuk porsi sebagong gini dan rasa seenak itu.

Pokzilla - A TOTAL DIET KILLER, Surabaya

Hey guys!

Jadi kalo kalian tau akhir-akhir ini di Surabaya Barat ada resto yang jual daging ayam & babi yang dibungkus dengan keju yang sliwer-sliwer dan bisa molor - well kalian pasti gak asing lagi dengan nama Pokzilla.

Yup, Pokzilla ini lokasinya di Darmo Permai Timur VI no 11a, Surabaya. Dan pertama kali kalian datang kesini, kalian bakal disuguhin dengan aroma keju yang bakal bikin melting...

Menu andalan mereka adalah Pokzilla Cheesy BBQ - kombinasi dari iga babi dan daging ayam yang udah di-marinate  dengan korean style, disajikan di hot plate dengan keju yang meleleh (kayaknya sih itu mozzarella). A plate of this scrumptious dish will take 98k from your savings - tapi tenang gaes, karena 1 porsi ini cukup buat 2-3 orang (atau buat 1 orang yang udah kelaperan banget).

Dan tenang, kalian bakal dapet 2 magkok nasi gratis/ porsinya. 

Tapi tenang, kejunya bakal meleleh saat kamu masak hotplatenya diatas portable  yang udah disediakan. 

(My friends and I ended up taking the meats & the cheese seperately lol)

Rasanya ENAK, terutama bagi kalian para pecinta keju. Kejunya menang banget gaes, tapi menurutku untuk harga segini kurang reasonable sih... 

BUT kalo kalian datang sendiri/ tidak bawa perut kosong/ mau menghemat uang, kalian bisa beli menu andalan mereka yang lain, seperti Zab Thai (28k untuk Chicken, 36k untuk Pork) atau Pillow Curry Rice (38k). Zab Thai adalah daging yang di-marinate dan di stir fry & disajiin diatas kaylan krispi dengan telur. Untuk Pillow Curry Rice adalah kari babi dengan butter rice + puff pastry. 

Every good food needs a good drink! Disini mereka punya taro & greentea blended, lavender tea, mojitos, latte yang recommended banget. Range harganya dari 10-18k aja. Aku pilih Chocolate Hazelnut Blended (18k)

Aku reccomend kalian yang mau datang ke sini bikin reservasi dulu, atau datang pas jam" sepi (bukan lunch/ dinner). This place is cozy + punya lighting bagus (cocok buat foto"an, hehehe).

A nice eat indeed! ❤️

Yi-Kon - Mall Kelapa Gading, Jakarta

If you're happening to be in Mall Kelapa Gading, a well-known mall/ shopping center in Jakarta, aaaandddd having a sweet tooth craving, I reccomend you to try Yi-Kon.

So Yi-Kon is located at ground floor (the same floor as Food Hall, Bread Talk, Timezone etc - ground floor?) and I heard this from a post from my instagram.

Well that time I only tried this:

Super unfortunately I forgot it's name AND its price (my bad) but I think its the Taro - ice cream/ yogurt thing (u can find the exact dessert from looking the pic at the menu).

Which as expected.... Is super yuuummmmmmyyyy! ❤️

I may say everything is yummy (like literally) but this is a new twist of ice cream (since its taro flavored) and they got little jellies, liquid yogurt, and topping of your choice!

*you can pick between red velvet crumbles/ blue/ black ones... Little mochi, etc*

I love it love it love it ! Can't wait for another dessert from Yi-Kon <3

Dobutzoo - Asian Snacks & Desserts Cafe, Surabaya

Established in persumably early 2016's, Dobutzoo is a small cafe located in front of DS Bistro (behind GWalk, Citraland, Surabaya) - selling various kinds of asian deserts and snacks, including one of my main fave desert - Matcha (a.k.a Japanese green tea)!

I've always pass this place everytime I go home from school, so basically I've been craving to try this every single day. 

And it comes to this day!!

 

First time you get in, probably you'll smell a light vanilla scent which is such a good accessory to a cozy space.

Zebra butts tho LOL

First menu? Dobutzoo's Signature Parfait (34k) - with a pint of soft vanilla ice cream and matcha ice cream each, fried Mars bar, Ferrerro Rocher, Japanese sticky rice balls (no fillings, sadly), thin pieces of almonds, and chocolate syrup.

Which tasted sooo divineeeee 😍❤️ I'm in love with it, but one thing that's disappointing is the Japanese sticky rice balls, since it doesn't have any fillings (like nuts, etc). I ate those after I done my ice cream - so my bad #eeeepp hehehe

Not just ice cream, but we gotta try the food as well. So I chose : 

The XXL Chicken with Rice (40k) which got:

It is basically XXL Chicken (my mom ate this, not me) and the chicken was kinda dry but it was super crispy. Love love love!!

So far, I would reccomend their desserts better.

Spago, Boulangerie Cafe & Crossborder Kitchen, Surabaya

Hello again guys!! I know it's been a long while since I post something - you know, cramming through tests etc etc. 

And to celebrate the early of March, my school decided to "vacationize" (I guess you can call them that) the 10th and 11th graders. Pretty exciting? I know!

I also decided to try on a new -kinda happening- spot around town and my decision isssss......

SPAGO!! Yes - this place is located right next to Hachi-Hachi bistro, on GWalk, Citraland, Surabaya. 

From the outside it may looked like a bakery (at least that's what I thought at first lol) but who knows they actually got good food too??

After a while looking the menu I chose Pesto Basilico (IDR 57k) that's got spaghetti, sous vide chicken breast (good fo' diet tbh), basil pesto sauce, parmesan, and garlic crostini (a.k.a. garlic bread) - which looked something like :

And let me tell you guys - IT TASTED HEAVEN!! Even though its kinda pricy, but with the taste, it's all worth it.

And to accompany the heavy menu, I chose a chamomile tea (looks very, very cute btw)

And also the good 'ol Latte...

Delishhhh 💖

I do recommend this place, especially if you're looking for a cozy place to hangout or dine with your friends, family, or boyfie/ girlfie. Spago also have a crossborder kitchen so you can see what's cooking on and boulangerie shop to get your bread list checked. 

Can't wait to get there in any minute!!!

Mie Keriting Bu Sri Horas, Surabaya

Well, if you're looking for a way to satisfy your love for noodle (or just a momentary craving, like me), especially mie keriting ...

Well here you have it. Mie Keriting Horas, located on Jalan Bromo, Surabaya.

To be honest this place has been here for a long time (my mom's high school hangout spot) so definitely it still got the "vintage feels", if you know what I'm talking about.

And so the portion of the noodle was like...

HUGE MAN.

Well, for 52k (2 mie keriting, 2 iced teas) that was worth every bits of it.

You got 2 quail eggs, chicken, chasio, and porky stuffs, and good tasting broth (sometimes you could get like, plain-flavored broth). Don't forget their exquisitely delicious seasonings. YUMMMYYYYYYYYYYY!

I do recommend to eat this when you are really hungry though.

BASHA ARCADE!

Heeyy guys whatsup?

So I know it's been a very long time that I haven't post anything yet (sorry) because I'm busy cramming with tests and the tasks of the 11th grade.

Pretty tiring but yet I'm also excited -- since I got the chance to visit the BASHA ARCADE back on 30th August on Ciputra World, Surabaya, which I think is a smaller version of the legendary Basha Market.

So for this year, the concept/ theme is Mad Lab which I think is very creative and simply awesome.

..And celebrity/ famous Indonesian actor Glenn Alinskie was there to sell his clothing line with his brother, the Alinskie Brothers!! (WHAT!!!)


Anyways, despite having sort of low budget (I only bring 30k that time lol), but yet still wanting to try on the Basha Arcade's food and snacks... I decided to try on this 25k on-the-coconut-served ice cream which tasted as usual --

DELICIOUS.

For me, even this 2-pints of coconut ice-cream may seemed a little to ordinary, but yet I think the quality of the products and the ripeness of the coconut just raise the tasty into scrumptious.

And anyways -- this cute ice-cream "brand" is KELAPAS, originated in Jakarta, as I heard from the seller himself.
You can only choose 2 toppings, but that time I got free sprinkles and nuts.
And you get free little umbrellas.
How nuts is that?!!

*Ahem*
But yet I've seen this ice cream somewhere in Thailand, though.

And they also sell lattes in various flavors which are just the b-best. This one is one of my fave flavors of all time- Matcha.
